Most of our work is with Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Therapy. Remi Marents is a Gestalt therapist (the most common variety of psychotherapy in the western world) – and this reflects on his style. Expect little bullshit, and a service provider that is clear and direct.
Sessions are always 1:1, and for most topics you will have 4 sessions. Here is how we do it, we use Smoking Cessation as an example:
Session 1; Intake Session
On the first session we explain everything you need or want to know about hypnosis, and also about what each session will be like. We ask questions about how much you smoke, when did you start, what are your experiences with quitting before, why do you want to quit smoking, what needs do smoking satisfy for you (relaxation, comfort, a brake, bored etc.). Hypnosis is a learned skill, so we do a hypnosis session to let you experience it, and while we’re at it you will recieve some mild sugestions while you are under… You will recieve a homework assignment – and this will take 20-30 minutes of our time before the next session.
Session 2;
Reduction Session
This is a session where the aim is to change the relative strength between the two opposing needs of quitting smoking on one side, and the need for smoking that we increased awareness about during your first session. The technique used is a mix of direct suggestions and visualisation – exactly the same method we have trained 6 different world champions with. The result of changing the relative strengths is that cutting back on the number of daily smokes is more or less automatic: if your desire for something goes way down – you do less of it, without any effort or willpower. The hypnotic trance will be deeper than the first session, and suggestions will be delivered with more power hence with more influential power.
Session 3; Stopping session
This is the big day! Today is all about two things; linking together strong positive emotions and feelings with not smoking in the settings you usually smoke – and reinforcing your strong, firm and unstoppable decision to quit smoking forever. The strength of this decision is maybe 40% af success, and it will take you through the first 3 days as a non-smoker with ease – and the remaining 60% is our secret that you will be thaught on your first session. Tha trancework will again be deeper, stronger – and about 30% longer in time than the previous.
Session 4: Reinforcement Session
Depending of whether you have had withdrawal symptoms, arguments with your kids/spouse/co-workers/neighbours etc. or not, whether you have been climbing the waals – or haven’t really noticed any discomfort – this session will combine the neccessary support geared towards your subjective experience of the first week with the firm reinforcment of the suggestions from the Stopping Session. If we are the very least in doubt about whether you are on track or not, we will supply you with our custom made reinforcement hypnosis cd or MP3 – the same we give the clients opting in for the single session smoking cessation programme.
Other addictions like alcohol, cocaine, speed, gambling, hash and marihuana follow a very similar process. Phobias, anxiety, weight reduction and confidence / performance boosting will be taylor made, expect fra 3 to 5 sessions depending on the complexity of your situation.
